The doubles specialist, Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, booked her place in the Saturday’s final by recording an excellent win over Gisela Dulko 7-5, 6-4. The Spaniard is still looking to win both the doubles and the singles in Båstad.

 

After a tough match Martinez Sanchez finally stood as winner. She played with variety and precision and forced Dulko to run a lot on the court. The Argentine, who has been working extremely hard the whole week, wasn’t able to reload her batteries today and didn’t have the energy to turn the match around; n ot even her compatriot Guillermo Canas support was enough to give Gisela Dulko more energy.

Martinez Sanchez played a good tactical game making use of Dulko’s weaknesses to earn a deserving spot in the final.

“The wind was really tough to handle today so I’m very happy to be through for the final,” Martinez Sanchez said after the game.
