Exciting Quarterfinals in Båstad
Thursday will be full of highlights in Båstad. Eight girls are still in the run to become the first Collector Swedish Open Women champion. The three top seeds are still remaining and they are looking to hunt down another opponent in the quarters.

The Spaniards, Carla Suarez Navarro and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, will be battling for the first place in the semis. Both players have taken huge steps on the WTA-rankings the last year and will surely offer some great tennis for the crowd. Suarez Navarro has won both their meetings on the tour and will of course be the favourite to claim a place in the next round.

Since there are no more Swedish girls left in the tournament the majority of the audience will be cheering for Caroline Wozniacki. She will face Maria Kirilenko in her match. Kirilenko, who has had a rough year so far, is looking to take revenge from the Dane. Recently Wozniacki beat the Russian in straight set so it will be interesting to se what Kirilenko will come up with today. Kirilenko has been playing really impressive so far in the tournament and there’s no doubt that it will be a tough match today.

The third match on the centre stage will be played between Gisela Dulko and Dominika Cibulkova. Dulko was playing extremely well in her last game and saved three match points against Sorana Cirstea. She’s got to feel pretty confident moving in to this battle. Everything from now on will probably sense like a bonus for the Argentine. Therefore she will be more able to just relax and really find her redeem on the court. Cibulkova must watch out in this exciting game otherwise it will be a disappointing story.

No wonder that Flavia Pennetta is on the 15th place on the WTA-tour, she has been playing some extraordinary tennis in Båstad and is hungry for more victories. She will meet Alla Kudryavtseva from Russia in her quarter. The Russian has been a big exclamation mark so far in the tournament and is currently carrying a 100th place in the rankings. Feels like it will be an easy story for Pennetta, but you should never say never in tennis.

On Court 1 there will be played two quarterfinals from the doubles tournament. The day seems to have every opportunity to be really interesting.
