Robin proved star quality in Bastad
Sunday's final day of SkiStar Swedish Open ended in a brilliant manner. A seemingly invincible Robin Soderling won his second tournament title in Bastad in three years by knocking out World No. 6 David Ferrer 6-2, 6-2.
Soderling lost just 13 games in the tournament. This was his fourth title of the year and tenth of his career.
- It was really fun to play this good tennis at home. I am both pleased and proud of myself. I've played really well from first to last ball this week, says Robin after the game.
Is clay your new favorite surface?
At this level one must be able to play well on all surfaces and I know that I can.
The victory in Bastad is Robin's first title with Fredrik Rosengren as a coach.
- Now I have won at least one title with all my coaches. It seems that I can take anyone, jokes Robin. We've had pretty decent results since we started working together but it is not until now that it has been great.
